The UNESCO Hong Kong Association are offering the English Online Tutorial Program. The program aims to stimulate students’ interest in learning English and to encourage self-learning through reading, writing and playing games online.
This online tutoring service is free and is open to all local S.1 to 4 students with a view to help them improve their English and build self-confidence. We are going to provide classes every week, and the duration of each class is about an hour.
The attendance hours are registered and registered students can redeem different rewards at different levels of scores after repeated attendances. During the lesson, students who have registered with us are allowed to live chat and interact with other students and the tutor.
The UNESCO Hong Kong Association is offering the English Online Tutorial Program starting to local S.1 to S.4 students in this April. The program aims to improve their English and build self-confidence.
We are recruiting volunteer tutors to teach the following classes:
1) Articles Reading – Aiming to improve students’ reading skills, enhance their understanding of social issues, to arouse their interest in international affairs 2) Writing – Aiming to improve students’ writing skills and grammar, correcting their written assignment (no more than 150 words)
3) Interests Class – Topic of your choice which you consider interesting but it must be related to our 17 Sustainable Development Goals
If you like to help these students by stimulating their interest in learning English through reading, writing and playing games,you will definitely find this part-time volunteer job rewarding and meaningful. You only need to spend 5 hours ( mostly at weekends) in a month teaching at home or any place you choose.
The UNESCO HK SDG Debating Tournament is open to students between secondary two and secondary six (or equivalent) and has the goal of promoting the sustainable development goals adopted by the United Nations a few years back. We have a very diverse adjudication panel consisting expertise in different fields who will be sharing their insights with debaters, including academics from universities. This event provide a very educational experience for all involved.
香港联合国教科文组织协会 (UNESCO Hong Kong Association) 于二月十八日假香港科学园，连续第五年举办「和平大使文化庆典」。今年以「和平与可持续发展目标」为主题，让大众认识17个可持续发展目标（SDGs） 庆典得到本地及外地团体积极参与，香港公众透过一系列免费的娱乐活动，包括「写出和平」、「画出和平」、「种出和平」工作坊，文化表演及游戏摊位等，加深香港公众对各国文化的认识及尊重，体现香港文化共融的气息。了解共建和平以及17个SDGs对可持续发展的的重要，鼓励社会以欣赏及包容态度接触世界文明、各国文化及人民，并加强对「可持续发展」的意识。 今年庆典继续获得各驻港领事馆、商业团体、宗教团体、多间学校鼎力支持，加上香港教科文之友亲善大使艺人方力申出席。
